The time changed again, and we went ahead (lost) an hour of time. It's still throwing me off!
This past weekend was amazingly fun!! We went to the Colorado Mammoth game. It was so much fun... we LOVE Lacrosse! The game was fantastic, it was actually an all-star game between the west and east divisions, so we couldnt root for our team but there were a lot of Mammoth players on the West team. Including my favorite, Brian Langtre. Unfortunately West lost, but it was still so much fun it didnt matter.
Immediately after the game at like 10pm, we ate Viva Burrito and then left for Copper Mountain. My daddy has recently convinced me to give skiing a try (I normally snowboard). We arrived at my Uncles condo at about midnight (at which time it was actually 1 pm because of daylight savings), slept like crap, then hit the slopes at about 9 am til about 1 pm. I did really good and Ricky and my dad were pretty proud of me, and I think my sister (who was snowboarding) was impressed because she kept saying how awesome I was doing lol. My Uncle and his family didnt do any skiing with us because they are so advanced. My cousins, who are 13 and 5 years old, are both extremely good. Lauren, the 13 year old, took a course where you have to take a lift to the top of the mountain, then take a 40 minute hike, until you reach the double black diamond slope (aka the HARDEST level) lol. Im like, youre FREAKING CRAZY!! And my other cousin John does blue slopes, which is basically intermediate. I of course, did green. My dad can do black diamonds (not double though, I think) and Im pretty sure Ricky could handle a blue. If he were in practice, he could do a black diamond, but he had not been skiing for 10 years (he still looked amazing on the slope though). Naturally I am extremely torn up today, but we had so much fun were going again in a couple weeks, and are even thinking about buying season passes next year J
So, we left in the afternoon to head back to Denver (about a 1.5 hr drive my Uncle has made it in 1 hour and 10 minutes before lol), hit a bit of traffic, so it took us a couple hours and then we went to see my mom, and then Rickys mom, and then gathered up the dogs who had been staying with my mom and headed back home. I took a nice hot shower and slept SO WELL! Unfortunately had to get up at 5:30 am to work. LOL!!
This weekend was so much fun and I loved it. My husband is so nice to me haha... on the very last part of my green slope, it was quite a bit steeper than the rest that I had done and I must have fallen a dozen times. He stayed by my side the whole time even though I kept telling him to go ahead, that I'd catch up eventually. But he didn't want to leave me. I think on that last portion of the slope I just got REALLY intimidated... but not only that, my legs were exhausted at that point and simply refused to hold me up for very long! So it took me forever to just go a few hundred feet lol. But I did make it, and I can't wait to try it again once my knees are healed. Haha!
